The Remote Health Practice Postgraduate Award Program allows progression from Graduate Certificate through to Masters level. Specific streams include: Nursing, Allied Health, Management and Ageing and Disability.

The Nursing stream aims to meet the higher education needs of Registered Nurses who work in remote areas or who have an interest in joining the remote health workforce.

 

Graduate Certificate in Remote Health Practice

4 Topics (18 units)

Core Topics

  • Context of Remote and Indigenous Health (4.5 units) *
  • Remote and Indigenous Primary Health Care (4.5 units)

* includes compulsory intensive workshop in the Northern Territory


Plus 2 Elective Nursing Topics including

  • Remote Advanced Nursing Practice and Pharmacotherapeutics (4.5 units) *
  • Chronic Disease in Remote and Indigenous Primary Health Care (4.5 units)

* includes compulsory intensive workshop in the Northern Territory

 

Graduate Diploma in Remote Health Practice

8 Topics (36 units)

Additional Core Topics

  • Ethics, Power and Practice (4.5 units)
  • Research and Evidence Based Decision Making (4.5 units)
  • Public Health Principles for Remote and Indigenous Practice (4.5 units)


Plus 1 Nursing Elective Topic

  • Remote Advanced Nursing Practice Across the Lifespan (4.5 units)
