General Practitioners Network of the Northern Territory
The purpose of the Medicines Book is to guide the safe and effective use of medicines in Remote Health Centres. This is particularly relevant to Aboriginal Health Workers in the Northern Territory, who supply and monitor medications for patients (under section 29 of the NT Poisons and Dangerous Drugs Act) and who may not be able to access or read other common reference materials. This manual was developed using the Australian Medicines Handbook (AMH) as it's major reference source. It acts as a supplement to other medicines reference books, such as the AMH and MIMS and includes dosage and prescribing guidelines. It has been developed in consultation with AHWs, pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and AHW educators ensuring comprehensive coverage is given from a technical perspective, as well as a local, on the ground approach.
Price: $15.00 plus postage.
